Physical therapy
Physical therapists are highly licensed professionals who
work with people who suffer from disabilities, disorders, or limitations in
their overall physical function and mobility. This deviation can be caused by
illness, injury, or disease. Physical therapists can also work with people to
help them prevent injury.
How Do Physical Therapists Help People Regain Mobility?
The physical therapist checks, evaluates, diagnoses,
develops a treatment plan, and provides a prognosis for each patient
individually. They use therapeutic modalities such as exercise, joint
mobilization, hot packs, ice compresses, as well as electrical stimulation to
help restore mobility and function to reduce pain in order to help you return
to the previous functional level.
Physical therapists evaluate and assess various disorders
that occur after an injury or illness. This damage can include:
- strength
- balance
- Range of motion (ROM)
- Coordination
- attitude
Durability
From the initial examination, your physical therapist will
then develop a special treatment plan to correct the physical findings in
question. Your individual care plan is directed towards achieving specific
rehabilitation goals set by you and your physical therapist.
Rehabilitation strategies often involve highly specialized
exercises to stretch & strengthen muscles and to improve posture, balance
and endurance. Physical modalities including heat, cold, ultrasound, and
electrical stimulation were also included in most treatment sessions. Traction
& massage machines are two other valuable techniques for functional
improvement and also as a pain reduction. Aids such as crutches, canes, and
pedestrians are often used to increase patient independence by walking.
As long as you are in a rehabilitation program, the physical
therapist records progress, reevaluates physical findings, & modifies
appropriate treatment strategies. They often work as a team with various other
professional experts including doctors, speech pathologists, occupational
therapists, and recreational therapists, all with the same goal of achieving
maximum functional independence of patients.

At Core
Rehabilitation we also provide physical therapy ... with a difference!
What is
physical therapy for?
Physical
therapy can also help anyone who suffers from a musculoskeletal injury, or
someone who has just recovered from surgery. It can also help with other
difficulties such as balance / walking problems, or neurological problems due
to stroke or brain injury acquired. Even people who recover from non-orthopedic
surgery (internal problems, cancer) can benefit from physical therapy by
regaining strength and endurance and for complications such as swelling
(lymphedema). Natural physical therapy is very large & also covers the
whole body and its functions. To learn how physical therapy can specifically
help your condition, make an appointment with one of our locations for Free
Injury Screening.
Can I choose
the physical therapy clinic that I go to?
Not all
therapists or physical practices are created equal & you can choose where
to receive care for you. Sometimes your doctor will recommend a particular
therapist or practice. And sometimes your insurance company will ask you to go
to a therapist or certain practices. You always have the right to request
certain providers. We are "in the network" with most of the main
insurance (Medicaid excluded). See this list for insurance received. If we are not
"on the network" with your particular insurance company, many are out
of network options that still provide coverage.
What makes
Core Rehabilitation different from other physical therapy clinics?
Our
physical therapist is a manual therapist who uses a variety of techniques and
skills to return the patient to full function as quickly as possible.
We only
employ licensed professionals to work with our patients. We do not employ
physical therapy technicians or people without formal education to help with
patient care.
We have
been privately owned by a physical therapist. This allows us to focus more on
patient care and excellent patient outcomes than the bottom line and
manipulation by company influence.
It's easy
& convenient to schedule your physical therapy appointment with Core
Rehabilitation. For patient convenience, we have offices in Keller, Bedford and
Justin. We are also open six days and weeks and have morning and evening
appointments available.
Our
physical therapist specializes in advanced care, and always follows the latest
research and evidence.
Some of our
specialties include:
- Injuries

- Core
