Eligibility: The applicant must be a postgraduate physical therapy education program, approved by the Missouri Physical Therapy Board. Official transcripts, with the school stamp affixed, and also the titles given are recorded, must be submitted from each and every college or university present. Foreign Trained Registrants: If applicants have received education outside the US, applicants must submit evaluation credentials. Evaluation must be prepared by an institution approved by the Board.

Each PT license holder must collect approximately 30 points and each PTA license holder must accumulate as many as 20 points of continuous competency activities during the reporting period set to qualify for license renewal. These points must include one mandatory point of the Practice of Jurisprudence.

For example, if you were first licensed after February 1, 2013, your continuous competency reporting period starts on January 1, 2014 and ends on January 31, 2016. There is a 25-month period to complete ongoing competency requirements. The extension of the license is EVERY year.

Sometimes your doctor will recommend a therapist or special practice to you; sometimes your insurance company requires you to go to a therapist or certain practices.
