The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is one of the professional doctorates. The transition from the Master of Physical Therapy degree to a professional doctorate is made to better prepare physical therapists to practice in a growing health care environment. The expertise of physical therapists in movement and dysfunction is unique in health care. The education needs of physical therapists have increased when their roles and social responsibilities and health services have grown to become independent practitioners.

What can the Atlanta Spine Institute do for you?

The human spine is a smooth skeletal tissue bone. It must be bent and can also rotate to maintain balance and range of motion. Problems with your spine, such as disc herniation, degenerative discs, back and leg pain, can have a big impact on the quality of your life. You may be faced with the time lost from work. Maybe you can no longer run, dance, or walk without help. Maybe your medication offers a little help. If you are one of millions of adults who suffer from back pain or spinal conditions, the Atlanta Spine Institute can help.

This main facility is leading in providing highly qualified spinal care. Whether you experience low back and neck pain, suffer from curved spine (scoliosis), have degenerative disc disease or herniated discs, have work-related injuries or sports injuries, the Atlanta Spine Institute offers some of the most sophisticated treatments. Most importantly, the Atlanta Spine Institute offers respect and affection to all our patients. We are dedicated to conservative treatment of patients with adult musculoskeletal problems.

A doctor of physical therapy, or a DPT degree, has become the standard when it comes to physical therapy education to meet the increasingly high demands of modern medical practice.
Physical therapists play an important role in the medical industry because they help people rehabilitate injured people, improve their movements, and manage their pain. They can also support patients with chronic conditions, injuries, and diseases. Those who are loving, reliable, and have high stress tolerance, may want to consider getting a physical therapy doctor's degree. Your skills and knowledge can be used in areas that have the potential to grow, while making a difference in the lives of patients.

How to get a doctorate in Physical Therapy

Why Consider the DPT Program?
Professionals who want to become Physical Therapists need a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree so they can qualify for the licensing exam. All countries need physical therapists to be licensed. If you are looking to start a career as a physical therapist, or also just to expand your knowledge, then the DPT program can be the right choice for you.

In fact, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts that physical therapist jobs will increase by approximately 34% during 2014 to 2024, far faster than the average for all jobs. That's because baby boomers are likely to stay active as they get older. In addition, medical technology and procedures allow for more outpatient surgery, which may require physical therapy. For this reason, and many others, it may now be a good time to look for a doctorate in a physical therapy program.
