The board can issue a temporary license or permit in a satisfactory application and also the payment of the registration fee set by the board with the rules.

The Licensing Agency for Physical Therapists, can issue without a temporary permit examination to someone to practice as a physical therapist in this state if the person submits a permit application and pays to the board when applying for a temporary permit fee.
A person who holds a temporary permit can practice physical therapy only under the direction of a licensed physical therapist.

Someone with a temporary permit (issued because they graduated from a CAPTE accredited school in the U.S. state or territory and applied for a licensing exam for the first time or were a foreign-educated physical therapist who had graduating from a CAPTE accredited physical therapist program) must practice under supervision in place, which means that at any time the supervisor's therapist is in the same building and immediately available for consultation.
